As a London videographer I am always looking for ways to make my work smoother, faster, and more creative. One piece of kit that has become a staple in my kit bag is the Ready Rig. If you have ever struggled with handheld shots that leave your footage shaky or your arms aching halfway through a shoot you will understand why.
A Ready Rig is not just about stabilisation it is about freedom. By distributing the weight of the camera across your body it allows me to move fluidly through a scene without getting worn out. On longer shoots especially in London where locations can involve lots of walking and tight spaces this makes a huge difference. I can focus on framing, composition, and storytelling rather than worrying about shaky hands or sore shoulders.
The beauty of using a Ready Rig is how natural it feels. Unlike a gimbal which can feel mechanical and sometimes limits movement the Ready Rig lets you move like a human while keeping the shot steady. It opens up creative possibilities for dynamic cinematic shots that really engage the viewer.

For me the biggest benefit is comfort without compromise. On a recent corporate shoot I was able to follow talent through busy London streets capturing smooth tracking shots without ever slowing down. It is also a lifesaver for low angle shots or moving through uneven terrain you get stability in places where tripods or sliders simply would not work.
Being a London videographer often means adapting quickly to changing environments. The Ready Rig lets me be agile, versatile, and ready for anything. Whether I am filming interviews, events, or cinematic sequences it is one of those tools I cannot imagine leaving behind.
If you are a fellow videographer or just starting out investing in a Ready Rig is not just about smoother footage it is about making your shooting experience better, more creative, and far less tiring.
