Why Make a Promotional Video - London Videographer

As a London videographer I am always looking for ways to make my shoots look cinematic and professional without overcomplicating things. Recently we filmed a performance with pianist Dan Stokes and wanted to create the feel of a multi-camera shoot. The twist was we only had one camera.

The process was actually pretty simple but super effective. We started by filming Dan on a wide shot, then a close-up, and finally with a gimbal to get smooth moving shots. Each take captured a different perspective and added variety to the performance.

Once all the footage was in the edit we synced the clips and set up a multi-cam sequence. From there it was just a case of cutting between the angles to make it look like a fully equipped studio shoot. The result was dynamic and engaging footage that really brought the performance to life.

What I love about this approach is how it shows that you do not always need multiple cameras to get that professional feel. Thoughtful planning, careful shooting, and a bit of editing magic can take a single camera and make it look like a full multi-camera setup.
