Luxury Salon Video Production in Mayfair: Creating Brand Film and Social Media Content for Jo Hansford London
At D&A Films, we work with brands to create video content that showcases what makes their business unique. From brand films designed to elevate a company's website to short-form social media content that keeps audiences engaged, our approach combines creative direction, thoughtful production and an understanding of how video can support a brand's wider marketing strategy.
Earlier this year, we worked with Jo Hansford, the renowned luxury hair salon in Mayfair, London, to produce a collection of video content showcasing the salon, its team and the experience it offers its clients.
The project involved a full day of filming, resulting in a brand showreel for the salon's website alongside a selection of short videos created for social media.
Showcasing the Experience Behind a Luxury Brand
For a luxury salon, the experience extends far beyond the finished hairstyle. From the moment a client walks through the door, every detail contributes to the overall impression of the brand.
Our brief was to capture this experience in a way that reflected the quality of the salon, the expertise of its team and the premium environment it has created.
Rather than focusing on hair alone, we wanted to tell a broader story about what makes Jo Hansford special. This meant capturing the salon's beautiful Mayfair interiors, its specialist colour services, the precision of its stylists and the hospitality that forms part of the client experience.
We also captured the salon's Royal Warrant, an important part of its heritage and identity, alongside the people and details that bring the brand to life.
The result was a collection of footage designed to communicate the salon's identity across multiple platforms.

One Production Day. Multiple Video Deliverables.
A key part of our approach was making the most of a single production day.
We produced a brand showreel for the Jo Hansford website, alongside a selection of short-form videos for social media. Each piece was designed to highlight a different aspect of the business, allowing the salon to communicate its services and personality through a varied collection of content.
The filming covered:
Colour services and expert styling: Showcasing the technical skill, precision and artistry behind the salon's work.
Luxury hair treatments: Capturing extensions, keratin and collagen treatments, conditioning services and the transformations they create.
The client experience: From personalised consultations and the front-of-house welcome to the salon's in-house chef and hospitality.
The wider salon environment: Highlighting the interiors, premium products, branding and beauty treatment rooms.
The people behind the brand: Featuring the salon team in action, their working relationships and the mother-and-daughter team of Jo and Joanna.
By planning the shoot around these different themes, we could capture a broad range of content while maintaining a consistent visual style.
A Full Production Approach
The project was delivered as a full production, with directing, producing and filming coordinated around the brief.
We filmed using the Sony A7S III, alongside a gimbal and EasyRig to achieve smooth, controlled movement while retaining the flexibility to capture natural moments throughout the salon.
This combination allowed us to move between carefully composed interior shots, detailed close-ups of hair treatments and more fluid footage of the team working with clients.
On a shoot like this, preparation is essential. With multiple services, locations within the salon and different deliverables to capture, the filming needs to be structured carefully to ensure every part of the brief is covered within the available time.
Working closely with the team on the day, we captured the range of visuals needed to create both the main showreel and the individual social media videos.
Creating Video Content That Works Across Platforms
A brand film and a collection of social media videos serve different purposes, but they can work together as part of a wider content strategy.
The website showreel provides an opportunity to communicate the overall brand experience, helping prospective clients understand the atmosphere, services and expertise behind the business.
The shorter videos allow individual aspects of the salon to take centre stage. A potential client interested in colour services can discover the expertise behind the work, while another may be drawn to the salon's treatments, hospitality or wider beauty offering.
This approach gives the business a more versatile collection of content to use across its digital channels, rather than relying on a single video to communicate everything it offers.
For brands investing in professional video production, this is an important consideration: one well-planned shoot can generate multiple assets, each with a clear purpose.
Video Production for Brands That Want to Stand Out
The Jo Hansford project is an example of how we approach commercial video production at D&A Films.
We take the time to understand what makes a business distinctive, then develop a production approach that captures those qualities through compelling visuals.
Whether we're filming a luxury salon, a hospitality brand or a growing business, the aim is the same: to create high-quality video content that reflects the brand, connects with its audience and gives the business assets it can use across its marketing.
From initial planning and creative direction through to filming and final delivery, we manage the production process to make sure the finished content aligns with the brief.
If you're looking for a video production company in London to create a brand film, corporate video or a collection of social media content for your business, we'd love to hear about your project.
